What is HGRA?

HGRA is a 60-year tradition of bringing families, neighbors and friends together for enjoyable recreational activities.  HGRA is where kids learn the value of healthy competition in an environment that emphasizes participation, learning and fun.  HGRA parents often talk to us about their great memories of playing HGRA sports and they are thrilled that HGRA is still going strong for their kids.

More about HGRA:

  • The Highland Groveland Recreation Association (HGRA) provides recreational sports activities for area youth and adults in a low-stress, low-cost and family-friendly environment.
  • HGRA is a non-profit, mostly volunteer organization relying on registration fees and charitable donations to present sports programs each year.
  • HGRA serves over 2,000 participants in our soccer, baseball and track programs.
  • HGRA provides summer employment for nearly 100 local high school and college students as referees, umpires, field staff, track and soccer coaches, and baseball instructors.
  • HGRA provides fun, affordable sports program for youth athletes and serve as an alternative option to elite, year-round programs. Multi-sport athletes enjoy the sport more, have a lesser risk for burnout, and tend to become lifelong sport participants.

HGRA Core Values

Highland Groveland Recreation Association (HGRA) provides fun, family-friendly, affordable sports programs in soccer, baseball, and track for youth athletes of all skill levels.

HGRA creates community through sports.   It’s our mission to create low-stress, low-cost, sports programming for the Highland Park and surrounding Twin Cities communities that are not only beneficial to our athletes but the entire family.

Our sports programs are player-centric and focused on creating a fun and relaxed environment for our athletes and their families.

HOW CAN I HELP?

  • Your donation will help HGRA maintain low registration fees so that we can be accessible to everyone who wants to participate.
  • Your donation helps us pay for on-going maintenance of fields along with rental fees for playing facilities for all sports. Our facilities are one of our most important assets for all of our programs and your donation will help us ensure we will continue to keep these spaces in the future.
  • Your donation of $90 will help support a child who would otherwise be unable to participate.
  • Your gift will help ensure that HGRA is still here when your children bring their own kids to their first day of HGRA soccer, baseball or track.
