Soccer News

The 2015 HGRA Summer Soccer season begins on May 11 and ends on July 26 with a bye week for the 4th of July.

We are excited to announce our continued partnership with St. Paul Blackhawks Soccer to facilitate the curriculum and training for our 5U, 6U and 7U leagues this summer!  Each week, the players will participate in 30 minutes of professional coach-led activities and games designed to develop the player in a fun, high energy environment.  There will be a 30 minute game following the practice where the players can demonstrate their newly acquired skills.
Our new and improved format will maximize the players time on the field and give them access to some of the best coaching in the area to increase their success and enjoyment of the great sport of soccer!  We look forward to seeing you for a great summer of soccer at HGRA!

Soccer Registration Information

Here are some tips for making sure that you register correctly and with no surprises

1. Read all of the information in the "Online Registration Instructions" page.

2.  Examine the ages/birthdates information to be sure you know what league your child will be in.

Know which day your child's league will play on to be sure that there are no conflicts with other activities.

Read the "Buddy" policy carefully to make sure you understand what it allows - and what it does not allow.  You can list one buddy.  Make sure you spell their full name correctly and they do the same.

Contact your child's intended buddy before registration to verify that the buddy intends to name your child (and nobody else).  Make sure they know your child’s full name and list them during the registration process.

6.   P
ractice schedules are chosen by the coaches with feedback from the players/families.  The 5U, 6U and 7U leagues include "practice" time  in their game schedule so there may not be a separate practice for this leagues.

7.  Volunteer to coach.  We can only have teams if we have coach volunteers.  Look below for more information on volunteering to coach.

8.  Be flexible HGRA Soccer is a recreational league.  We do not keep records of wins and losses.  The majority of HGRA Soccer coaches are volunteer parents; some are high school and college students.
